At Legacy Bath & Kitchen, we understand that remodeling your home can be a complex and sometimes stressful process. Our Design-Build Process

Discovery - Let's Talk

During your free in-home consultation, we will get acquainted to see if we are a good fit for each other, diving deep into your vision, and making sure we understand it. We will listen carefully and discuss a range of costs in relation to your vision, determining a realistic budget for your project.  Our goal is to help create the greatest value we can within your budget. We'll talk about the schedule, how financing works, your role in the project, and what you can expect from us. We will be unfailingly honest—telling you what will be fun and what won't.

Design and Project Development

The purpose of the design and development phase of the project is to take the guesswork out of the typical "estimating" process used by most remodelers. It assures that you have all the information and a guaranteed price upfront before ever entering into a Construction Agreement. We take detailed measurements, photos, videos, and extensive notes regarding your renovation. This  process virtually eliminates unexpected change orders so that there are no surprise added costs or delays once we begin your project.

Agreement

With discovery and design work complete, we will meet with you to talk through the project. We will take all the time you want to be comfortable and confident, going over the scope of work, project plan, progress payments, timelines, logistics, and concerns. At this point, we believe you will have all the information to make a well-informed decision and know whether we are the right fit for your project. If you are ready to sign off on your design and production plan, we will enter into a Construction Agreement.

Pre-Construction

During pre-construction, we'll handle all of the details of ordering, inspecting, and staging materials, as well as scheduling and coordination of your project. The duration varies depending on the scope of your project and the number of jobs already in the queue. We will diligently keep you up to date on progress.

Construction

All the waiting and upfront work begins to pay off in this exciting phase. In fact, because we do so much upfront work, our average bathroom renovation or kitchen remodel takes a fraction of the time of a traditional remodel. When your installation date arrives, our clean and courteous crew will arrive on time and will stay on your project until it is complete, taking special care to leave your home neat and clean along the way.

Finalizing Your Project

During this completion phase, we will inspect to ensure that craftsmanship levels have been maintained throughout the project. We'll do a final walk-through with you as well as a final cleanup. Finally, we will leave you with a punch list document for you to make note of anything you might run across that needs a touch-up or correction for a 3-month follow-up visit. We offer an industry-leading warranty, and you can always call us with questions or concerns.

How long does the design process take?expand_more
The design process can take anywhere from
a few days to a few weeks depending on the
size and scope of the project, how much you
would like to collaborate with your design
consultant and how quickly you can
confidently make selections. We will not rush
you during this process because we believe
strongly in getting your vision right.
However, please understand that until all
selections are made, we are unable to
finalize a price, get you to a construction
agreement, or get you on our calendar.
How long is the remodel going to take?expand_more
We are often asked how long a residential
remodel will take. The answer to that varies
depending on the size and complexity of the
project. At Legacy Bath & Kitchen, before we
start your project, we have a project
specialist put together a calendar laying out
a timeline for the completion of your project.
Can I live at home during the remodel?expand_more
Remodeling can be dusty and noisy during
construction. The upfront work we do during
the PDA process will serve to minimize the
amount of time we are in your home and the
effects and impacts the process has on you.
Ultimately, it is up to you whether you prefer
to stay in your home during the remodel or
not.
Can I buy my own construction materials?expand_more
We supply the construction materials to
ensure proper material style, size, hardware,
and trim are ordered. Our preferred vendor
relations mean that if materials arrive
damaged, we can have them replaced quickly.
In addition, we have direct dealer contracts
who provide material warranty. And because
we have vetted the materials we install, we are
able to confidently stand behind our
installation warranty.
What if I make changes during the contruction process?expand_more
Changes made during the project will be
considered a Change Order. Change Orders
are not considered part of the original
project, and therefore require a change order
form signed off and paid for before
proceeding with the change. This will not
only add to your cost but could also increase
the time it takes to finish the project, which
is the main reason we use the PDA process.
The more we know upfront, the less likely a
Change Order will be necessary.
How do we pay you?expand_more
A deposit is due at the signing of the
Construction Agreement. Before
construction begins, we establish a schedule
of weekly or bi-weekly draws that will be
collected during the installation phase of the
project.
